The Canadian Writing Research Collaboratory (CWRC) is an infrastructure project that will produce a virtual research environment for the study of writing in Canada, in partnership with other open-source software initiatives and with other literary scholars and projects. It will build a repository, a layer of services for the production, use, and analysis of repository and federated materials, and an interface. The project requires a full-time manager with advanced domain knowledge, strong managerial skills, and the experience or aptitude for managing a technical project. We require a dedicated team member with depth of knowledge in literary studies and some familiarity with work in the digital humanities, to coordinate the multiple components of this project and supervise some areas of activity. The manager will assist with equipment ordering and oversee setup, play a key role in project planning, coordinate user needs analysis, assist in developing specifications for contract work and partnership agreements, evaluate work in progress and completed, and help manage the development process. Duties will also include supervising staff working on converting or entering seed materials (e.g. bibliographies, biocritical information) for the repository and advising affiliated scholars engaged in CWRC projects.
