Introduction

Steps

    Start

  1. Go to the JiTR link at http://ra.tapor.ualberta.ca/~jitr/
  2. Log in with your username and password.
  3. Wait for the page to load.
  4. You can either view existing collections or create a new collection.
  5. Create a Collection

  6. To create a new collection click on "New Collection" on the home page.
  7. Choose a name and a description for you collection and click "Create".
  8. On the home page you will see your new collection.
  9. Click on your collection to add a new text.
  10. To add a text click "Add a text" or "Upload XML" under "Import Text" on the right hand column.
  11. To add an XML file go to "Upload XML" and choose your file then click "Upload".
  12. To add text, HTML or XML choose "Add Text".
  13. Here you can give your file a name, tags, description and text format.
  14. You then paste your text into the Source text textbox and press "Create"
  15. Analyzing Texts

  16. To analyze your text click on the collection from the home page
  17. Under the text you want analyzed click "Analyze" and Voyant Tools will open to analyze your text

    Description

    JiTR is a project that considers how principles of online mash-ups can benefit text-based research. It helps its user collect online texts into one place, then organize and process them.
